Family Worker

 

St Christophers Academy Family Worker is Mrs Lay.   Mrs Lay supports children and families and can provide families with the guidance and support they need to bring up their children

 The school have a good working relationship with Central Bedfordshire Council and other outside agencies.  Referrals can be made for additional support.

 

We have a display of leaflets in our school reception area so feel free to come in and have a look.

 

St Christophers Academy has developed and will continue to develop our Nurture, Social and Emotional Support for our pupils. We believe every child and young person has the right to an education regardless of their circumstances. We believe that social and emotional security are the fundemental foundations upon which a succesful education is built. To this end we will endevour to provide the best pastoral support and help all children to achieve.

Thank you to all of you who joined us for our Easter Family Man session on Saturday 1st April. We enjoyed lots of Easter crafts and especially enjoyed making chocolate Easter nests

Christmas Family Man session - Saturday 3rd December 2016

A big thank you to those families who turned up on a very cold Saturday for our Christmas Family Man session. I hope you all had fun making different Christmas crafts and especially the marshmallow snowmen!! See you all for our next session in the New Year!

We had our first Family Man session on Saturday 15th October 2016. We had great fun building using Lego, Duplo, wooden bricks and junk modelling!

NSPCC visited our school in September 2016 for their 'Speak out, stay safe' campaign. We had assemblies for the whole school and workshops for year 5 and 6.

We had a super morning today.  Many parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles joined us for 'Sing with your Child'.  It was a great success.  Thank you to those who took part, we look forward to next time.

What a fantastic morning making Pizza and Fruit Kebabs as part of our Healthy Lifestyle Week. It was Pizzamazing and fruitylicious!! Well done to all the children and families that took part.

Parents joined us for an Art Evening on Friday 13th November 2015.  It was great fun and enjoyed by all.  Mr Kennedy our Art Teacher taught parents and children how to draw portraits, they then drew each other.  There was some fantastic work.  Thank you to all who supported this event.

Parenting Week 17th October - 23rd October 2015

 

Please see the information below for more information.  Throughout the week there are lots of great events scheduled. You are welcome to attend any event.  Please note: You will need to book a place on the Football sessions and the Forest School.  If you need further assistance then please contact Lorraine Harris 

We had a great response last year with our Welcome Venture.  The feedback was amazing.  Here are just a few of the comments.

 

  • The art exhibition and pottery evening were our favourite events.
  • Doing classes with my child was fun and we both got a lot out of it.
  • Really enjoyed all the events we attended
  • Shared a book with my child and her friend, lovely experience.
  • Lovely experience, nice food.
  • Great fun, Loved it, must do it again.
  • It was good to have the schedule in advance so that we could best plan who could attend.
  • Great to be involved in our child's day/activities in school.
  • All were fab! Very nice to welcome parents in.

Our last Pottery Evening this school year, Thank you to all families that attended.

The French Cafe opened yesterday evening. Our Year 5 & 6 waiters and waitresses were great at serving their families, using their knowledge of the French language in preparation for the French Trip next week. Well done all, and thank you to the parents who came. A very enjoyable evening.

Lunch on the Field with the men in our children's lives. A great success, lots of fun had by all, the children were all very happy.

Second evening of Parent Pottery Pictures. Well done all for your great work and effort! Thank you for making the evening so successful.

Our first Parent Pottery evening was a great success. Well done families your pottery was super !!

LUNCH WITH YOUR CHILD WEEK  - It has been a great week this week as Parents have been lunching with their children.  Lovely to see families spending quality time together.  it was a success and we will be doing it again.  Keep an eye out for future dates. 
Well done and thank you KS2 parents for joining in today with the singing.  You were great !

Early Morning Maths Challenge

 

The early morning maths challenge was a great success.  It was super to see so many parents.  Thank you all for coming.  We hope you enjoyed your time in school  the children most certainly did!
