Music at St Christophers

Music Timetable for the year 2017-2018

The children at St Christopher’s Academy all have the opportunity to learn a new instrument with an outside agency. They are given the chance to learn, read and produce music of their own. We hope to inspire as many children as possible with these timetabled classes and help to support those who want to go even further.

Sign 2 Sing

On Wednesday 3rd February we had ‘Sign 2 Sing’ day in school. All the children were asked to wear a scarf to school to raise money for a very worthy charity for the deaf.

Along with our fund raising we also learnt a song called ‘Reach Out Your Hand’. We also learnt some sign language to go along with the song as actions!

The song we learnt can be found below-

St Christophers at the O2

On Friday 19th of Janurary, St Christophers Academy Choir performed at The 02 in London as a part of ‘Young Voices’. We attended, along with hundreds of different schools and THOUSANDS of children. We sang with Laura Wright, danced with ‘Urban Strides’ and even beatboxed with ‘The Beat Box Collective’.

We all learnt songs with Mrs Guilder (our favourite was the Pop Medley) and after an afternoon’s rehearsal we performed in front of a HUGE crowd of parents.

It really was a magical evening and it was a pleasure to attend with such well-behaved children.

A big THANK YOU to Mrs Guilder, all the parents that attended and those that helped out!
