- Important information regarding school closure from Monday 23rd March 2020 -

Home learning packs have been put together for the pupils to complete at home during this period of closure. These include English and Maths workbooks, worksheets, reading books and the children's regular homework books. Homework books or alternative exercise books can be used to record any written work completed during this time. Other learning tasks will also be set regularly through Purple Mash, MyMaths and TT Rockstars so please check these regularly. All children have been provided with the login details necessary to access these websites however if you do need a reminder or any support with using them, please feel free to email your class teacher and we will be happy to help. Reading regularly is vital in practising phonics and early reading skills and should be continued as normal. Please feel free to read a range of books from school or home.

The class pages will be used to communicate any learning with parents and students and will be updated regularly. Please keep checking the 'Home Learning' tab to the right to see tasks set or any important information.

Should you have any questions during this time regarding teaching and learning, please use the email addresses below to contact your child's class teacher. Remember, we are here to help and the pupils' well-being, safety and learning are our priorities.

1KB - Miss Ballinger -

1SM - Mrs McCloskey -

Welcome to Year 1!

The class teachers are Miss Ballinger (1KB) and Mrs McCloskey (1SM).

Key Information

PE Days - Miss Ballinger's class will have PE on a Thursday and Friday. Mrs McCloskey's class will have PE on a Monday and Friday. Please ensure that your child has a full, named PE kit in school for these days. PE kits can be brought in at the beginning of the week and be left in school. A list of the full PE kit required can be found on the website under Parents > School Uniform.

Homework - Homework is set every Friday and is due back to the teacher the following Wednesday. The objectives set will be based on something the children have been learning about in school that week. Sometimes, tasks set may involve research for future learning. Guidance for homework can be found on the inside cover of your child's homework book.

Reading Books - Reading books and records should be brought to school daily. We encourage children to read every night to support their phonics. Please ensure that once you have read a book, you comment and sign so we know if it has been read or not. This will also help us to see any particular words or sounds that your child is struggling with and needs to work on at school. If part of the book has been read at home, please put the page number which you read up to incase we continue reading at school.

Library Books - The children will have the chance to choose a library book to take home with them for the week on a Friday afternoon. Their library book needs to come back to school each Friday in order to be changed.

Water Bottles - Please ensure that your child brings a named water bottle to school everyday to have in the classroom with them. This should contain water only, not juice.
